The Formica Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Jones as the new Marketing Manager for the UK, Ireland and Central Regions. Rebecca will be responsible for the Regional Marketing teams as well as the Fabrication Support Unit and Samples department.

Rebecca joins the Formica Group from International Paints (Akzo Nobel) where she gained 14 years of experience in the industry. She brings a wealth of marketing experience with her at an international level having previously managed a successful global product portfolio. Rebecca will be responsible for managing Formica® and Axiom® brands in the UK and Central Regions, starting with the launch of the new 2010 Specification Collection to the A&D community, Fabricators and Formica Group Distributors.

In addition to this Simon Wild has recently been appointed as European Marketing Director. Having worked with the Formica Group for over five years Simon previously held the role of Marketing Manager for the UK and Ireland and more recently was responsible for Central Region marketing adding to his responsibilities. John Hodkinson, European Marketing Manager Commercial and Alberto Ceniga, European Marketing Manager Residential and Communications, will form the core European team, working closely with the regional marketing divisions.

With new product development, sustainability of products and processes, and adaptability in the market becoming increasingly important, the Formica Group has made these key strategic appointments to ensure it retains its strong brand position and reputation as a market leader.

In the UK, Formica Group is headquartered at purpose built offices in The Cobalt Business Park, North Shields, with two factories in the North East of England. In May 2007, the Formica Group was acquired by Fletcher Building, one of New Zealand’s largest building company. The acquisition resulted in the creation of the world’s largest manufacturer of high pressure laminates.
