Sunray has developed a steel louvre system for Foster + Partners new
sub-station located at their London practice. The innovative new
system integrates seamlessly with neighbouring buildings and
complies with EDF energy regulations.
To meet design requirements, Sunray used its unique StackableLouvre system. Totally versatile, this system can be built to any height, has no visual joins and the sections can be cut to any size or shape.
For design continuity, Sunray manufactured and installed powdercoated, mild steel louvre banks on all four sides of the sub-station and created bespoke mitre joint sections for each of the four corners. To overcome the challenge of limited space, Sunray replaced the hinged door with a sliding door.
The resulting innovative use of steel louvres ensured that the sub-station blended harmoniously within the wider campus of buildings in Battersea, London.
